This small group class is perfect for beginner Spanish learners ages 6-12. The class meets once weekly.
This course is designed for a group of 2-5 students. The minimum of 2 students must be met in order for the class to be held.
Learners will be introduced to themed vocabulary. Learners will practice pronunciation and will be able to identify the word, its meaning, and use it in context. While learning vocabulary, students will also be practicing their listening and comprehension skills.
The themes for the classes are as follow:
Week 1 Hola! – Learners will learn about introducing themselves and sharing about who they are when meeting someone and making friends. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 2 Números – Learners will learn the numbers 1-20. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 3 Colores – Learners will learn colors and talk about their favorite color. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 4 Útiles escolares – Learners will learn words of common school supplies that we use everyday. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 5 Yo puedo – Learners will learn action words and phrases about things we can do. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 6 Nuestro cuerpo – Learners will learn words of body parts. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 7 Sentimientos – Learners will learn words about feelings and phrases about feelings that we experience on a daily basis. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 8 Mascotas – Learners will learn words about pets we love. Students can bring a picture of their pet if they have one. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 9 Mi fruta favorita – Learners will learn words of fruits that we like and eat often. Students can share what their favorite fruit is. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 10 Mis juguetes – Learners will learn words for toys. Students can bring their favorite toy to show in class and talk about it. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 11 – Días de la semana – Learners will learn the days of the week. Students will talk about their weekly activities and their favorite day of the week. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 12 – Meses del año – Learners will learn part of the months of the year. Students will talk about their birthday month. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 13 – Meses del año – Learners will continue with months of the year. Students will talk about their birthday month. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 14 – Tiempos y climas del año – Learners will learn words that describe daily weather. Students will talk about their favorite weather and season of the year. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 15 – Estaciones del año – Learners will learn the seasons of the year. Students will talk about their typical activities for each season. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Week 16 – Mi ropa – Learners will learn vocabulary for seasonal clothing. Students will pick their favorite clothing for the different seasons. Conversation will be encouraged to elicit learners to practice their Spanish in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
